Who processes your data?

We are the controller for the personal data described below.

What data do we collect?

The data you give us. When you fill in the contact form or the valuation request : your name, phone number, email address and message. For a valuation, we also collect the vehicle details — make and model, year, fuel, mileage — along with any photos you choose to attach.

Technical data. Our firewall logs IP addresses and access attempts in order to protect the site against attacks. Those logs serve no other purpose.

What we do not collect. This site uses no analytics tool, no advertising pixel and no social media tracker. We do not build profiles and we do not follow your browsing.

Why, and on what legal basis?

• Answering your enquiry and making you an offer — steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Handling a sale, trade-in or brokerage file — performance of our contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and compliance with our legal obligations regarding invoicing, Car-Pass and vehicle registration (Art. 6(1)(c)).
• Keeping the site secure — our legitimate interest in guarding against intrusion (Art. 6(1)(f)).

How long do we keep it?

An enquiry that leads nowhere is kept for three years from the last exchange, then deleted.

Where a file results in a sale, a trade-in or a mandate, the contractual and accounting records are kept for seven years, as required by Belgian accounting and tax law.

Security logs are purged automatically after a few weeks.

Who do we share it with?

We do not sell or rent your data. Ever.

It is disclosed only to those needed to handle your file, and only where the file requires it : our hosting provider, the finance company if you request financing, our warranty partner Real Garant, the Car-Pass non-profit and the Vehicle Registration Directorate (DIV) for mandatory formalities, and our accountant.

Where is your data hosted?

The site and its database are hosted by OVH, in data centres located within the European Union.

Two Google services are fetched by your browser : the typefaces, loaded from Google's servers, and the map shown on the Contact page. These requests pass your IP address to Google and may involve a transfer outside the European Union, governed by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

When you arrive on the site, no cookie is set.

Your browser's local storage remembers the language you chose, so we don't have to ask again. That information stays on your device and is never sent to us.

The Google Maps map on the Contact page, however, may set Google cookies when it loads. You can block these in your browser settings without affecting the rest of the site.

Your rights

The GDPR gives you the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing, to object to it, and to receive a portable copy.

Write to us at info@motorsagency.be : we reply within one month. You do not need to justify your request.
